Turning Point USA Riley Gaines

Turning Point USA welcomed Riley Gaines in her first public appearance to the University of Memphis since the tragic murder of Charlie Kirk. She shared her fears and her disappointments throughout her life. BUT, she focused most on encouraging others to know Christ personally first and be bold to stand for what is morally right. Others will not stand along with you, unless you are willing to stand for yourself!

We are very proud of @anneelizabethmatheny of her work with this organization and her care for other's personal walks with Christ and her boldness in speech. To learn more about Turning Point USA at the Memphis Location, visit their IG account: https://www.instagram.com/turningpointmemphis.

Shelby Country Republican Women's Club Members had a great time hearing Riley's testimony and meeting wonderful people throughout the night Members had a great time hearing Riley's testimony and meeting wonderful people throughout the night.

SCRWC supports the Memphis Safe Task Force

Some our @shelbycountyrepublicanwomen members helped serve our forces. Thank you for making Memphis safe again! Love what @toddstarnesfnc did!

His repost: Repost from Todd Starnes: I was truly honored to help serve members of the Memphis Safe Task Force today. Our friends at Cop Stop smoked 100 pounds of pork and we served it with all the fixins. The agents say that the hospitality they’ve received in Memphis has been off the charts. God bless these brave men and women who came from across America to save our city!

SCRWC Attends TNFRW Convention

The TNFRW Convention in Chattanooga was a fabulous experience for our SCRWC Delegates!

The Convention's theme was "Trump's Golden Age", and it truly was a golden time, with delicious food, wonderful hospitality, lots of fun and fellowship, hosted so well by Hamilton County Republican Women. The Convention guest speakers included some of Tennessee's greatest Republican leaders, U.S. Congressman John Rose, U.S. Congressman David Kustoff, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett, and U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn.

SCRWC congratulates the newly elected TNFRW Officers for 2026-2027, including our own Shelly Cheng, who was elected TNFRW Corresponding Secretary!

Our Club won several NFRW awards, including the prestigious Diamond Award, the Muffet Brock Award, the 70K Membership Achievement Award, the 20% New Membership Award, and the Caring for America Participant Award. TNFRW President Sharon Boreing gave special recognition to SCRWC President Carrie Schween for our Club's growth, and Sharon also recognized our long time SCRWC member Patti Possel for her outstanding work for the TNFRW. Statesmen Dinner

Statesmen Dinner

What an amazing weekend attending the Statesmen's Dinner, a time-honored Tennessee Republican tradition dating back almost 50 years. It is the largest state Republican Party dinner in the country and attraced over a 1,700 attendees. This year's theme, "Tennessee's Golden Age," is celebratory in nature. Like you, the Tennessee Republican Party is thrilled that Republicans secured the White House, the House of Representatives, and the Senate.

The icing on the cake for the evening was welcoming Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Mike Johnson as the keynote speaker. He has been a powerful unifying force in Congress, rallying his slim Republican majority to pass such consequential acts as, most notably, the One Big Beautiful Bill. A measured, balanced, and effective Speaker, he ensures President Trump's mandate is carried out in the legislative branch.

We had a large Shelby County presence at the dinner and with some of our attendees from Shelby Country Republican Women's Club. Thank you for representing ladies!!! Dr. Sharon Webb, Pam Proctor, Judy Kilmer, Linda Strong and guest-her sister, Janine Carney, Kristin Hicks, Kristin New, Lorrie Williams, Patti Possel, Rachel Wall, Amber Mills and guest Marilyn Loeffel.

We want to congratulate Peggy Larkin and Tim Beacham for being awarded Statesman of the Year Awards for their respective congressional districts! Bravo!

August Luncheon

Today’s SCRWC Meeting & Luncheon was just FABULOUS! We were honored to have 2026 Tennessee Gubernatorial Candidate, Congressman John Rose as our Guest Speaker, along with his Lovely Wife Chelsea, his Campaign Manager Chris Devaney, his long time Mentor, Lee Todd, and his Chief of Staff, Ben Deeter, formerly of The Mighty 990 KWAM and longtime supporter of our Club. Bridgett Jordan gave a very touching introduction of Congressman Rose, who showed such kindness to Bridgett’s Daughter Skyy at this year’s Ladies Day on the Hill.

Also, our Historian Pam Proctor shared key thoughts about the importance of exceptional Republican leadership, and President Carrie Schween made a presentation of a $1000 donation from our Shelby County Republican Women's Club to the Memphis Young Republicans, graciously accepted by YR President Anne-Elizabeth Matheny.
